This is a second more simple pig/barn design. In this design, the piglets and barns are knitted on separate rows. This blanket is a little bit smaller than the first, so if you are pressed for time or like the simpler style, this is the blanket for you. Also, for a more masculine blanket, the pattern gives details on how to adapt the pattern to rows of barns only, using a less feminine color.
The blanket is knit using 2 strands of DK weight yarn (1600 yds.) on a size 10 circular needle. The gauge is 4 stitches and 6 rows per inch for a finished size of 28"x33".
For a blanket using one strand of worsted weight yarn (800 yds.), use a size 8 circular needle. The gauge is 5 stitches and 6 rows per inch for an approximate finished size of 25"x31".
