HEIRLOOM DIAMOND LACE BABY BLANKET

This was a fun project for me that took me out of my comfort zone.  It is one of the few lace projects that I have attempt.  It was surprisingly easy once I hit my rhythm.

If I were expecting a grandchild, this would be one of the patterns I would want to make.  The center features inter-twining diamonds with two panels of lace on either side.  The center design is then bordered by a row of eyelet.

The blanket was knit Appalachian Organic cotton (a sport weight yarn) on size 6 needles.  The finished size is 30″ x 34″.

I hope you enjoy it also.  Comments welcomed.

I love this new blanket. Is it hard to make. I have made about 8 of your patterns and I love them.

This blanket is has a lot of lace stitches so if you’ve done lace before, it should not be a problem. If you haven’t, this one may take a little more time. Just use a lot of stitch markers to keep track of where you and you should be fine. Let me know if you have any other specific questions.

I purchased this pattern but I’m stuck on the “Bottom of Eyelet Section Border” I know there are 12 stitches on each side and 150 stitches in the center. The “Design Section K12, (K2tog, yo) 68X, K12 comes out to 160 center stitches. With the additional 12 stitches on each side is more than the 174 CO stitches. Does someone have the correction? Thank you
